Mothers Love

No love in the world can compare to mothers love. It is the only love which is pure, truly unconditional, capable of sacrifice, patient, forgiving, instinctual. I was told only when you become a parent you truly see and feel the real meaning of love. This love has created leaders and artists, it inspired greatness, moved the mountains and this kind of love never dies. It continues living in people's hearts, even beyond the physical reality.

Everybody remembers at least one instance when their mother did something great for them. Something extraordinary yet simple which made us who we are today.

Here are a few of mine.

When i was born, my mother, a career woman decided to raise me full time until the age of five. This sacrifice was driven out of love and care for my best interests. When i was in school my mother was very strict with me and forced me to study instead of playing outside. I used to be mad at her but now i understand she did it out of love. She did it because she wanted me to have a better life and to teach me discipline, persistence, attentiveness, patience and more. All necessary ingredients of success any success no matter how big or small. Later in life my mother worked 2 jobs because she wanted me to have a good education. I remember her being always tired yet she always found time for me. Even now in my adulthood my mother is my best friend and we are very close. When i need an advice i turn to my mother. I would do anything for my mother.

'My mothers love for me was so great i have worked hard to justify it' - Marc Chagall. Marc Chagall became one of the biggest painters because of his mothers love.

'All i am i owe to my mother' - George Washington

'When it comes to love, Mom's is the word. For all the ways you have helped me grow, i want to say i love you so.' - Renaissance Greeting cards.

On this Mother's Day i want to say I LOVE YOU MOTHER. Probably more than anything in the world and i am hoping one day somebody will be able to say this about me, if i am lucky enough.

Care to share stories about your mother ? What words of your mother's wisdom do you live by ?

Would love to hear from you.

Easter Eggs

Easter eggs are one of the strongest Easter symbols in Christianity. In fact all Christians whether it is Catholics, Orthodox or Anglicans agree on it's symbology and connection to the resurrection of Christ.
Coloring Easter eggs, hiding them for kids to be found and adding them to Easter dinner feast is also fun and an occasion to gather a family together over a meal and to keep the traditions alive.

Let me share something new with you this Easter. My moms egg recipe, just in case you might want to mix tradition with something new and unusual and surprise your guests. I know it is last minute but the recipe is not log to execute i promise. So here it is.

Eggs on Red Peppers

You will need

6 eggs
2 red sweet peppers
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
½ teaspoon English mustard powder
1 tablespoon French mustard
2 spring onions
Tablespoon of capers
Paprika
Salt and pepper to taste

Boil the eggs for 12 minutes. Remove the egg shells and allow to cool. Halve the eggs lengthwise and remove the yolks.

Mix the yolks with the spring onions, mayonnaise, both mustard and salt and pepper. Blend the mixture well.
Spoon the mixture back into the egg whites. Sprinkle lightly with paprika and garnish with capers.

Halve the red peppers, remove all the white pith and seeds. Slice the red peppers into thin strips cutting off any curved ends so the strips are nearly flat.

Arrange the strips of red pepper on a plate and place the eggs on top.

You are almost done. My little niece painted the image of our Snap Arbre decal with Easter eggs. Yours can do the same but instead of painting your wall use Easter egg stickers to create Easter ambiance.

Happy egg hunting everyone !

How it is made

Are you a fan of 'How it is made' ? Here is your chance to make a visit in our warehouse to see how we prepare your orders.

Our warehouse receives giant rolls of wallcoverings or self adhesive wall art from our production plants and the first step is to cut the rolls into the standard final product size.

Afterwards it is time to wrap the product in plastic where applicable.
Next step is packaging.

Afterwards we tape the shipping container of the product.

Now the boxes are ready for shipment. What is left is to scan them for shipping and to load them on a track.

I visited our warehouse recently and i was amazed to see first hand how our products are prepared for shipment. So many steps to follow, so many machines and so many shelves to get lost. I packaged a few Princess self adhesive stickers and looking at the mere glittery beauty of them took me back in time and made me reminisce about my own childhood. You never forget your childhood or your first room. Now i had a chance to see first hand where magic is born and it is in production plants and warehouses.
Until we meet again.
Your friendly Peel and Stick.

Jonatic, Lovatic, Belieber phenomenon

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls the curtains are about to fall and the screams are increasing by the second. It is so loud i am loosing my hearing. I think i am going to faint, i can't wait any longer. The curtains are up and my favorite band is out in the open, smiling, waiving at their fans while singing the greatest hit. This phenomenon has been existing since the beginning of times. Idols faces change but not the phenomenon. Who are today's heart throbs ?

The most popular stars for today's teens are The Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. Each have their individual charm.

Demi Lovato, i was told, has been through a lot and she is still standing strong, she is an inspiration!

Jonas Brothers are cool and have a wonderful bond between them.

Selena Gomez is beautiful, has a good voice and is dating the ultimate teenage heart throb Justin Bieber.

Justin Bieber is the ultimate sweet and honest dream boy with a voice of an angel.

Miley is the new Mean Girl part 2. Mean girls are confident, highly admirable and popular, qualities which teens admire and aspire to be.

It is interesting how most of them came from/still are on the Disney shows. Growing up together and going through the same or similar problems is definitely a part of the charm, even almost a part of the family, not to mention tons of personal charm which brake the teenage hearts away. I also find it very unusual they are the least tinted by the Hollywood's dark side. They all connect with their fans, appreciate them and keep it real. I am a big stuck up kinda super star is definitely a turn of. Their songs are catchy and upbeat. The lyrics deal with day to day teenage problems so emphasizing with them contributes to the star power. Have i mentioned great looks? Every little bit helps.

Have i missed anything? Do you have something to add about today's teens idols? Who is your idol and why? We want to hear from you.

We carry Jonas Brothers, Wizards of Waverly and Hannah Montana self adhesive art which can be used anywhere you like : walls, laptops, tables, fridges - you name it. Join our Peel and Stick facebook for decorating ideas, sweepstakes, day to day fun and don't forget to enter our limited time Jonas Brothers contest for your chance to win 1 set of Jonas Brothers appliques.

Follow Your Heart

Love is knocking on the door. It is gray and wet outside. Should i open the door? Are you or your second half a cool, modern and sceptical guy/gal or Follow Your Heart sweetheart or are you in the middle between the two? Can you tell the difference? Are you going to open the door or stay in the cold?

Psychologists came up with 3 types of personalities, type A, type B and type C. Type A are overachievers, they are always busy and stressed out. They are competitive and experience guilt when they have nothing useful to do. Type B are the exact oposite of type A. Type C are loners who enjoy being alone. They are very detail oriented, hard working, perfectionists, usually very smart. On the negative scale they lack assertiveness to stand up for their rights, beliefs and as the result tend to feel depression more than other types. Do you know your type? Who do you think will open the door to love?

Valentines Day is approaching and if you are type A it means your Valentines Day provisions are done, everything is planed and you are still stressing over the details. If you are type B nothing is planned yet for the big day and it is not the end of the world as this day after all is to celebrate love. Love is supposed to be unconditional and non commercial right? Type C have the most chances to stay in the cold this Valentines day.

If type A and C are also fashion forward here is Valentines Day room decorating idea which will appeal to them. Snap Lucious is a great pick either for yourself or for your loved one to express your feelings on the wall - literally.

If the birds are singing the words of love in your heart each time you see your great love than why not to express it?

If you have a child family member who would like to create a Valentine's Day surprise for mommy than look no further. Snap Kids wall decals are a child's play to put up on the wall and you can have family fun creating the surprise. Make your parent cry from joy by expressing how much you love them. You can remove the decals after the Valentines Day is over if you wish. Type B would be most attracted to this idea.

Whatever your Valentines Day plan is let Love to be your inspiration because all we need is Love.

Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Magic mirror on the wall

"Magic mirror on the wall who is the fairest one of all"? Remember this memorable quote from the Snow White? This is a typical adult use of mirrors.  Most of us use them to make sure we look presentable to the world.  Remember the peek a boo effect on young kids? For kids, mirrors are a whole new world.  A world full of magic, surprises and learning.

According to Australian educators 'reflections fascinate young children and help them develop perceptions skills and self awareness'.  Playing various mirror games will help your child's development.

Standing in front of a mirror, playing with your face expressions and asking your child questions will not only spike an interest, fascination and serve as an activity but also will help your child's cognitive skills.  When i was in high school and chose psychology as one of my electives i recall my teacher saying that children are born with a 'blank board' and it is you and the society which fill in this 'board' with content.

By standing in front of a mirror and holding another mirror at close proximity you can ask a question: How many mommies do you see? As a bonus this question will teach your child to count.
Does mommy look happy or said?
Engaging your child by interaction is important as well.  It strengthens their memory and stimulates their brain to think in order to come up with the answer.  An example of such question would be:
How does mommy look when she is sad? To answer this question you child needs to mimic the sad face.

If your educational mirror is eye catching, magical or has your child's favorite character, this is an added bonus.

Below are a few self adhesive wall mirrors for kids rooms.

Have fun and i wish your child to become the next genius.

Cleanup games

The day after Christmas i woke up in a very messy house.  We were receiving my husband's family for Christmas.  Immediately i had a flash back of kids running around, tearing down and throwing on the floor Christmas gift wrappings, jumping around on the sofa and spilling hot chocolate on the floor. Sounds familiar?

Just as adults, children require motivation to get things done.  We all know how children love to play.  I believe having fun turns a chore into a game and therefore you have more chances of engaging your child to help you clean.

If you have more than 1 child in approximately same age group you are in luck.  Cleaning up after Christmas could become a competition.  Just try setting up a goal and follow through.  Here are a few examples for all family cleaning fun.

1. Set a competition, whoever gathers most toys and puts them into a storage box wins the challenge and the prize is......fill in the blanks based on your values.

2. Try to set a timing limit to finish a task, whoever does not finish on time will have extra cleaning task. Adding fun music you know your kids like is an added bonus.

3. Play cleaning hide and seek.  Hide a few little toys and while dusting your child should be able to locate all of them.  They will need to be hidden everywhere you want your child to dust so if he/she does not pass by with a duster they won't find them.  The game is not over until all children find all toys. Encouraging your children to help each other locating hidden toys fosters connection, friendship and team work.

4. Assign a kingdom to every child and their goal should be to keep foreign objects away from their kingdom.

At the end of the cleaning games reward your child by placing their favorite Disney, Nickelodeon or Marvel character on their room's wall.

Happy after Christmas cleaning everyone.
